The Trois Vallees (3 valleys) offers the largest skiable terrain in the world. The are 200 lifts and over 600 km of piste.
There 3 Valleys should really be called the 5 Valleys as it is made up of three major resorts (Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens) and two smaller ones (Mottaret and Les Menuires). Each of them are linked by endless runs and links. It takes a full day of skiing to go from one end to the other and back at an intermediate/advanced pace. Courchevel is one one extremity with Val T on the other.
Courchevel: Upmarket, luxurious (and pricey!) restaurants and hotels. Mostly Intermediate skiing.
Meribel: Very British, best night life, mostly intermediate skiing.
Mottaret: 2nd best off piste, intermediate to advanced, smaller village, best snowboard park.
Les Menuires: Quiet, "off the beaten track". Beginner to intermediate skiing.
Val Thorens: Best off piste, most 'european', intermediate to advanced.
The 3 vallees is perfect for a group of people who want to stay together, but are of varying skiing abilities.
