Peregrine's first steps in the world of adventure were taken leading treks in Nepal in 1977.
Their name comes from the word 'Peregrinate' which means to migrate, walk, or take a pilgrimage, very fitting for a trekking organisation.
Since that time Peregrine have broadened their horizons and now offer adventures to over 70 countries worldwide.
Peregrine offer treks, walks, wildlife safaris, cultural journeys, family holidays and expedition voyages, some which require physical as well as mental stamina.
Most are 'adventures' which can be enjoyed by anyone with an enquiring mind who enjoys getting off the beaten track, discovering and learning about their chosen destination.

Walking, Trekking & Wilderness 2008/09
Fresh air, new friends and fantastic hiking
It’s action, action, action with hiking, trekking, climbing, biking, kayaking, desert expeditions and even rainforest journeys on offer. The first Peregrine adventure was back in 1978 in Kathmandu and the tradition of outdoor adventure continues with this brochure.

Tracking the Snow Leopard is a brand new for 2008 14 day tour, where you search for the snow leopard in a Ladakhi winter wonderland, visit monasteries, do lots of walking and even fly across the Himalayas. The tour starts and finishes in Delhi with all departure dates in 2009 costing £1510 + 300USD local payment + domestic flights at £260.
Cycle Vietnam is a 17 day tour on two wheels starting in Ho Chi Minh City and going all the way to Hue, then train to Hanoi. All 2008 and 09 departures cost £975.

Small ship expedition voyages to frozen lands
Peregrine aims to take you on a voyage to the Polar regions with a program designed to make the utmost of your time and experience with a flexible approach enabling you to enjoy these regions in your own way.
- Peregrine uses two expedition-class ships for these tours, ensuring comfort and safety, with outside cabins for all
- Activities offered include sea-kayaking, hiking and wildlife spotting under the watchful eye of expert leaders
- High Arctic voyages are operated by sister company Quark Expeditions
Baffin Island Explorer is a nine night High Arctic voyage journeying across the roof of the world to see polar bears, walrus and other wildlife. The 18 Sep 08 departure costs £1855 per person, based on a main deck triple cabin.
High Arctic Explorer is an 11 night voyage into the bays and islands of the Canadian Eastern High Arctic and North West Greenland. The cheapest travel option, a main deck triple cabin, costs £2215 per person based on three sharing.
International travel is not included in tour prices.

Intelligent small group tours
In their 30th anniversary year, Peregrine is celebrating with a brochure offering a complete range of small group tours to worldwide destinations, with the aim of immersing you in culture, wildlife and history. The aim is to go much further than just scratching the surface and to seek out the heart and soul of the countries you visit.
- All trips are designed to have a pleasing mix of culture, wildlife, sightseeing and free time
- Group sizes are no more than 15 and there are no local payments and all major entry fees are included in the price
- All tour and trek leaders are born and bred natives of the regions you visit, so you know you’ll be guided by a local expert
Japan Revealed is a brand new 15 day tour for 2008 offering all the great Japanese highlights in one tour. Starting from Kyoto and finishing in Tokyo, you’ll see Hiroshima, Golden Temple, Tsumago on a bullet train and there’s an optional Mt Fuji trip. All 2008/09 departures cost £2150 per person + £136 train pass, excluding international travel.
Crusader Trails is a 17 day tour to discover the riches of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon on a grand adventure starting in Amman and finishing in Beirut. Throughout the trip you’ll see everything from desert sands and crusader fortresses, to fabulous bazaars and Byzantine mosaics. All 2008/09 departures cost £1290, excluding international travel.
