Voyages Jules Verne has just announced limited availability fully escorted tours to northern India, with special departures in the first quarter of 2010, to coincide with the famous Kumbh Mela religious festival.
The Hindu festival takes place in a town north of Delhi called Haridwar at the foothills of the Himalayas. The festival is indeed the largest religious event in the world and only takes place every 12 years, so this new 10 day tour from Voyages Jules Verne is really quite special.
The company is offering four departure dates during the Kumbh Mela which runs from January to April 2010. After a direct scheduled flight to Delhi from London, you will spend 10 nights exploring northern India. As well as the festival in the holiest Hindu city of Haridwar, which is where the sacred Ganges river meets the plains, there are also lots of other tour excursions and highlights.
You will be fully escorted by local expert guides, as well as reps from Voyages Jules Verne and there are city tours of Old and New Delhi, a jungle safari, visits to traditional bazaars, as well as a stay in an Indian palace at 2500m above sea level.
The departures on this very special Gates of God ten day tour for the Kumbh Mela festival in northern India are as follows:
Jan 21 2010 – £1125
Feb 11, Mar 4 – £1175
Apr 4 – £1255
All prices are per person based on two sharing and include return scheduled flights from London, all accommodation for 10 nights, excursions and guiding by local expert guides.
