Namibia - 14/7 days
Day 1 4. Quiver Tree Forest, Fish River Canyon, Kolmanskop (Start NC14/7S) We travel south to explore the Quiver Tree Forest, visit the Giants Playground where massive boulders lie strewn like childrens toys, marvel at Fish River Canyon, the second largest in the world and walk around eerie Kolmanskop, a colonial ghost town being consumed by encroaching dunes. Day 5 7. Sossusvlei, Sesriem, Windhoek At Sossusvlei we watch the sun rise over an incredible shimmering desert landscape and climb the worlds highest sand dunes. We also visit Sesriem and traverse the mountains on our return drive to Windhoek. (Finish NC7S) Day 8 10. Windhoek, Africat Foundation, Etosha National Park (Start NC7N) We head north to the Africat Foundation and learn about their work rehabilitating animals back into the wild. We spend two days in magnificent Etosha National Park on game drives and camp close to a floodlit waterhole. Day 11 14. Damaraland, Himba, Twyfelfontein, Swakopmund, Windhoek We learn something of desert life by visiting a nearby Himba village and find ancient bushman paintings at Twyfelfontein. On the Atlantic coast we visit Cape Cross Seal Colony and enjoy some of the optional activities such as quad biking and sand boarding in Swakopmund. Back in Windhoek our Namibian adventure ends. Day 1 5. Africat Foundation, Etosha National Park, Damaraland, Himba Tribe We leave Windhoek for the fantastic Africat Foundation and get close to some of Africas big cats. Further north in Etosha National Park we enjoy two days of game viewing and camp close to floodlit waterholes to watch the animals drinking at night. After visiting a traditional Himba village we enter beautiful Damaraland and admire petrified forests and rock paintings before camping in the shadow of the Brandenburg Mountain. Day 6 7. Cape Cross, Swakopmund At Cape Cross we view (and smell!) thousands of Cape Fur seals before driving on to Swakopmund. Here in Namibias adventure capital, sky-diving, dune boarding or quad biking are all optional activities on offer. Or relax on the beaches and enjoy the lively bars and restaurants. Day 8 9. Walvis Bay, Sesriem, Namib Naukluft Park We admire the birdlife at Walvis Bays coastal lagoons and travel on to Sesriem, gateway to Namib Naukluft Parks spectacular dune desert. At Sossusvlei we watch the sun rise over the incredible shimmering desert landscape and climb these magnificent sand dunes the highest in the world! Day 10. Windhoek Leaving Sesriem, we travel through the dramatic Naukluft Mountains to Windhoek where our tour ends.

Days 1 3. Namibrand Nature Reserve, Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon We drive south into the Namib Desert to our camp adjoining the Namibrand Nature Reserve and enjoy guided walks and 4x4 drives in this harsh terrain. We head to Sesriem Canyon and onward to Sossusvlei, where the sand dunes are the tallest on earth. Here we climb the dunes to watch the sunset before heading to our desert camp. Day 4 7. Swakopmund, Cape Cross, Spitskop, Twyfelfontein Crossing Namib Naukluft Park we look for ancient Welwitscha plants before spending two nights in the activity capital of Swakopmund, where options include quad biking or jumping from a plane! At Cape Cross we view a colony of 80,000 Cape Fur Seals, at Spitskop, camp amongst gigantic granite boulders and in scenic Twyfelfontein discover ancient rock carvings and paintings. Day 8 12. Himba, Epupa Falls, Etosha National Park, Windhoek In the wild Kaokoveld region we meet the nomadic Himba tribe and camp near the Angolan border. Then we head to Etosha for two days of fantastic game viewing. A highlight is to spend an evening at a floodlit water hole to watch the numerous animals come to drink. On our final day we game drive out of the park and return to Windhoek where our tour ends.

Day 1 3. Etosha National Park, Windhoek We travel north to arrive at Etosha National Park by mid afternoon. We spend the rest of the day and all of the next day exploring the park on game drives. In this dramatic and arid landscape waterholes are the main attraction for wildlife and spending time here may provide our most rewarding animal encounters. This is carried on into the evening as floodlit waterholes at night help us continue our watch for wildlife at our campsite. After a final morning game drive we leave Etosha and head back to Windhoek to overnight. Day 4 6. Namib Naukluft Park, Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon, Windhoek We head south to the Namib Naukluft Park and in the late afternoon drive out to one of the nearby dunes and watch the changing colours in this magnificent landscape. The next day we have a pre-dawn start to see the sunrise above the dunes and then travel onwards to Sossusvlei to explore this magical area by foot. In the late afternoon, as the day cools, we will take a short excursion to the Sesriem Canyon. We return to Windhoek on our final day where our safari ends.
