Jordan & Egypt Discovery
Egypt/Jordan - 22 days
Day 1 4. Jordan, Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum Travelling south we explore the hand-hewn rock faces and facades of ancient Petra. In the ochre desert of Wadi Rum we take 4x4s and join local Bedouins and camp under the stars. Day 5 9. Egypt - Nuweiba, Mount Sinai We cross by ferry to beach huts in Nuweiba to snorkel the reefs, feast on fresh seafood and enjoy Sinais golden sands. After climbing Mt Sinai we watch the panorama of mountain peaks turning orange as the sun hangs low across the peninsular. Returning to Cairo, we have free time before continuing to Aswan. Day 10 15. Aswan, Felucca Cruise, Luxor In Aswan, maybe explore Abu Simbel or take a swim with local Nubians before kicking back on our feluccas, passing palm-fringed riverbanks and sleeping on deck under the stars! Fabled Luxor offers chances to explore Egypts pharonic ruins and travel Egyptian style by donkey to Valley of the Kings. Day 16 22. Alexandria, Siwa, Western Desert, Cairo Mediterranean Alexandria has catacombs, forts and a wide sweeping bay to explore. Siwa contrasts: an ancient oasis of a thousand palms with the crumbling Shali and the eerie Mountain of the Dead. Heading into the Western Desert we discover oases and windswept dunes and camp amid the White Deserts strange chalk formations. We return to Cairo where the tour ends.

Egypt/Libya/Tunisa/Algeria/Morocco - 39 days
Day 1 13. Cairo, Alexandria, Tobruk, Apollonia, Nalut, Ghadames, Tripoli After enjoying Cairo and Alexandria we head west along the coast. We visit the battlefields of El Alamein and Tobruk, the Roman city of Cyrene at Apollonia and the souqs of Benghazi. After the magnificent Roman ruins of Leptis Magna we head inland to discover mountain castles and the beauty of the ancient trading oasis, Ghadames, the Jewel of the Sahara. We return to the coast to see Tripoli and Roman Sabratha before entering Tunisia. Day 14 24. Jerba, Desert safari, Tozeur, Kairouan, Tunis From relaxing Djerba, a desert safari takes us to some of the locations used in the Star Wars films, spending a night in the Saharan dunes before arriving at Tunisias largest oasis. Turning north, we visit Kairouan, one of the seven holy cities of Islam and relax in the fishing village of Mahdia, before exploring the capital, Tunis. Day 25 39. El Oued, Ghardaia, Djanet, Erg Admer, Tin Agoula, Hoggar Mts, Algiers, Casablanca Travelling through the heart of Algeria we visit the souqs of El Oued and Ghardaia and learn about the mystical Tuareg, nomads of the Sahara. Strange rock formations surprise us at Tin Agoula and Youfihakit before travelling to the cooler airs of Hoggar Mountains on our way to Algiers. Finally we fly to Morocco to explore Casablanca before our tour ends.

Bedouin Trails
Egypt/Jordan 18 days
Day 1 8. Cairo, Aswan, Luxor We start by touring Old Cairo, Gizas Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum. In Aswan we enjoy a camel ride to a deserted monastery and visit a Nubian village. You could also visit spectacular Abu Simbel. From here we relax aboard feluccas and have a night under the stars. In Luxor we explore its pharonic ruins and take a donkey ride to Valley of the Kings. Returning to Cairo, we have a day of leisure. Day 9 12. Mt Sinai, Nuweiba, We climb biblical Mt Sinai for a magnificent panoramic view of the peninsulars mountainous interior. In Nuweiba we relax and enjoy the Red Seas coral reefs. A ferry takes us to Aqaba for our Jordanian adventure. Day 13 18. Wadi Rum, Petra, Madaba, Amman In the company of Bedouins we explore the desert landscape at Wadi Rum and camp at night beneath a huge sky. Continuing to the breathtaking Rose Red City of Petra we delve into narrow rock chasms to discover ancient temples and tombs. We float in the Dead Sea before heading to Byzantine Madaba and on to Amman for our final day.

Mali - 14 days
Beyond Timbuktu
Day 1 2. Bamako, Djenne We have a day at leisure in Malis capital before traveling to Djenne, a World Heritage-listed city whose colourful markets have been trading since 250 B.C. Marvel at the towering mosque that dominates Djenne - the largest mud structure in the world. Day 3 5. Dogon Trek We trek the Bandiagara Escarpment discovering the fascinating culture, elaborate masks and unique architecture of the Dogon people. One of the few cultures in Africa still to retain their traditional lifestyle, the Dogon also believe that everything from trees to the sky have souls or consciousness. Day 6 9. Mopti, Niger River Cruise We have a guided tour of the evocative town of Mopti before embarking on a river cruise up the Niger River, the countrys lifeline for thousands of years. We watch the flurry of activity in and around the wide waters and camp on the riverbank at night. Day10 14. Timbuktu, Sevare, Segou, Bamako Timbuktu, with its ancient mosques and crumbling houses, conjures up images of remoteness and exotic faraway places. We have a couple of nights exploring the old town before travelling across the vast desert terrain of the Sahara, back to Bamako via the quaint towns of Sevare and Segou.
