Tuscany has always had more than its fair share of stunning scenery, simple yet mouth-watering cuisine, great wines, culture, art, hilltop villages and Renaissance cities. The only thing lacking has been activities... until now! Our five night activity break is based in Vinci and explores the undulating countryside that surrounds the birthplace of the great Leonardo. Weve included canyoning, coasteering, mountain biking and walking to keep you busy by day. The bars and restaurants of Vinci will do the same job in the evenings.
Agenda - 5 nights
Thursday: Arrival and transfers
We will meet you at Pisa Airport for the 45 minute transfer to our accommodation in Vinci. After settling in there should be time to explore the town before an introductory meeting and dinner in a local restaurant.
Accommodation - our opinion
Hotel Monnalisa The base for this holiday is the three star Hotel Monnalisa in Vinci.
Friday: Coasteering
This morning we head for the coast where we climb into our wetsuits and following a thorough safety briefing the fun begins. You will spend the next few hours scrambling, swimming, body surfing, jumping, coastal traversing and plunging along wild stretches of Livornos coastline. Such activity is bound to stimulate an appetite so we also visit Livorno to try one of the excellent fresh fish restaurants (not included in the overall holiday cost).
The hotel has 27 en suite bedrooms all of which have air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini-bar, safe and Internet access. Theres a bar and restaurant on the ground floor but a very short walk takes you into the very heart of Vinci where there is a good choice of eateries.
I leave feeling this is the best holiday Ive been to in my life. It was perfect

Saturday: Mountain biking and wine tasting
We drive into the hills above Vinci and follow an off-road track through the woods before choosing one of the many exciting descents down to the farm where we pause to try three locally made wines. Anybody with any remaining energy can tackle the very challenging climb back to the start point. Others may prefer the very short ride back to the hotel.
Sunday: Forest orientation
The woods and forests around Vinci are simply lovely. Well spend some time learning to use a GPS system and read a map before starting on our forest orientation task. A surprise awaits at the finish!

Monday: Canyoning
Everybodys favourite adventure sport as we jump, slide, swim and abseil down the course of the canyon. Quite simply its a thrilling combination of fun and adrenaline and very possibly the best way in the world to get wet! This evening we will have a farewell meal to discuss our exploits before our last night in Vinci.

Important flight information
Tuesday: Departure
After breakfast, we transfer back to Pisa Airport.
