Dear African Safari Club, I just wanted to write a personal "thank you" for "The Mysteries of the Mascarenes" cruise, aboard M.S. Royal Star. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I cannot praise too highly all the staff on the Royal Star, a charming ship. They were attentive to the "nth" degree. As I mentioned earlier, I could find no fault whatsoever. Our table companions were a delight and friendships were made! We greatly enjoyed this cruise because of the small ship's atmosphere and the beauty of the islands visited. The beach L'Anse de la Source d'Argent is by far the loveliest we have ever visited. We have seen islanders dressing their bushes and Norfolk Island pines outside with Xmas decorations in the blazing sun; quite a novel experience. One unforgettable moment was when hot and perspiring we went into the cathedral of Victoria to cool down and sat and listened with delight to the local choir practicing "O Come All You Faithful''. The guide on our safari was superb and enabled us to spy a leopard sprawling in a tree at East Tsavo, what a thrill!! Many thanks for this superb holiday and to all your staff I would like to write and say what a lovely time we had on the Royal Star. We went on the Magic of Mauritius holiday on 23rd July. We had a fantastic time, the boat and staff were excellent. The service and food were of an exceptionally high standard. The Ports of call were varied and interesting. The safari was fantastic both in content and accommodation, it was a marvellous experience. We and our friends enjoyed the most magical cruise in which we were celebrating our 25th wedding. It was romantic, exciting, relaxing stimulating and now I have run out of adjectives and verbs, food, ambience, service, destinations, entertainment and the boat was to die for. I would recommend this cruise to anyone, and I am trying to find time to try an alternative cruise. Thank you, thank you and thank you so much to your company for giving us the opportunity to experience the most wonderful "holiday of a lifetime". Our "Indian Ocean Odyssey" holiday was just superb. From beginning to end perfect... being away for 4 weeks is a long-time. But with the excellence of the whole experience we wanted to stay even longer. Once again sincere thanks from both of us. Big ship cruising - no! no!! Boarding the Royal Star at Mahé for the second trip on her, in February, was just like coming home! Cabin on the same deck, familiar faces amongst the stewards, a right Royal welcome from Allen, the Maitre d', and the lovely Phillipino hairdresser, made me feel as though I belonged to a lovely cosmopolitan community. I will be back for a third cruise - dunno when, but it will happen. Presidential Suite sometimes closed over the portholes during adverse weather conditions. Deluxe cabins have the added benefit of a small seating area. Most of the suites have two shower rooms, mini bar, table and two chairs, hairdryer and TV for videos, which are available from the Tourist Office. The romantic Honeymoon Suite also has a fourposter bed and a small seating area with a sofa. Within the well-furnished and spacious Presidential Suite there is also a separate lounge area with a sofa and two armchairs, a writing bureau and for total relaxation, a private terrace complete with sun loungers. A small lift serves all decks except the Caribbean Deck. A cabin plan of M.S. Royal Star can be found on page 43. YOUR CABIN STEWARD Each cabin is assigned a steward who will look after your every need from bringing you early morning tea or coffee to cleaning your cabin daily and turning down your bed at night. CHILDREN Children are very welcome and we are sure they will enjoy the experience. However, there are no special facilities or arrangements.
