Vineyard Walks An A&C Vineyard walk is a great way to capture the essence of a region. As we walk from cellar to cellar Vineyard Walks at a leisurely pace off the beaten track, we enjoy wonderful views of the chateaux. Walking through the vineyards offers a different perspective to tasting at the cellar door - not only do you get to taste the wines of course, but you get to examine the viticulture at close hand. On a typical day you will walk for an hour to our ½rst tasting then stroll on to a picnic lunch (with wine of course!) then more walking and tasting. You will walk 5 to 8 miles (more on the Mosel walk) and the ground covered varies according to the walk. They are not route marches but neither are they suitable for anyone who doesnt walk regularly, so please do consider this before you book. The ease or severity of the walks does vary quite considerably with Burgundy being the easiest. It is often possible to cut out the more severe stretches or to take the afternoon off if you wish. Conversely, on some of the walks it is possible to cover even more ground, taking in other paths that we have explored in the past. In the Rhone On the multi-centre tours the coach (or other transport) moves your bags and wine around as necessary and is usually on hand to pick up anyone who wants to bale out. We use characterful accommodation along the route from simple family run 2*&3* to small 4* guest houses, and even simple accommodation on wine estates. e meet on location and are very happy to offer advice on the best way to get to the meeting points and can book these travel arrangements for you. Many clients choose to drive to the walk starting point and that has the advantage of enabling you to bring back as much wine as your car can carry! W Walk Rating Explanation: Gentle: 5-8 miles a day, no real steep sections to tackle, opting out is easily arranged.
