Vineyard Walks Alain Doire / CRT Bourgogne about the wines we taste at Domaine Naudin-Ferrand. We descend to the Côte de Beaune via the Bute de Corton, where we taste the famous wines of Aloxe-Corton and Corton with Domaine Voarick or Domaine Senard. We then have plenty of time to explore in Beaune, before walking through the vineyards to Meursault where we stay for the last 2 nights. From here we walk through Auxey-Duresses and ½nally, past the famous Montrachet vineyard to ½nish in Puligny. We have excellent visits and tastings lined up in the southern Côte de Beaune. At Château de Monthelie we visit one of the original bio-dynamique estates in Burgundy. The results are superb. With Michel Prunier we taste Meursault and Auxey-Duresses and with Prieur-Brunet, Premier Crus from Beaune to as far south as Santenay. Chambertin Clos de Beze PARIS Dijon Lyon Gevrey Chambertin Puligny -Montrachet Burgundy Vineyard Walk Sunday 25 - Saturday 31 May This is our original walk, ½rst offered 16 years ago and it is still one of our most enjoyable and relaxing. We meet in Beaune, which is easy to drive to or to travel to by train. This is the most gentle and perhaps most wine focused of all our walking holidays. We visit selected growers, all of them good quality and some of them also very well-known. At these, you will taste a wide range of appellations, covering most of the villages Sunday 5 - Saturday 11 October from Fixin in the north to Chassagne-Montrachet in the south. Burgundy, more than any other wine region, respects the character that each parcel of land gives to the individual wine. Beginning in the pretty wine village of Gevrey-Chambertin, just south of Dijon, our journey reads like a great wine list. We walk south through the most famous vineyards, such as the Le Chambertin, Clos de la Roche and Romanée-Conti through to Nuits-St Georges. Along the way we taste great Gevreys with the traditionalist Lucien Boillot, Bio-dynamique wines from Morey St Denis with Domaine Arlaud, and a panoply of Burgundy villages: Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-StGeorges, plus Clos Vougeot Grand Cru with Domaine Bernard Rion. We also visit Clos de Vougeot, which was a wine making monastery belonging to the Abbey of Cîteaux nearby. These days the buildings house a number of medieval wine presses and are the headquarters of the Chevaliers de Tastevin. After Nuits-St Georges we climb up past the Nuits-St Georges Premier Cru St Georges and leave the Côte dOr for the hills, valleys and vineyards of the Hautes Côtes. It may seem like a rural backwater, but there is nothing second ½ddle This is a fascinating vineyard walk, really a wine tour on foot. You will hear much about the importance of terroir, the effect the soil and micro-climate have on the vine, and, by walking through the appellations, you will gain a far greater understanding of what makes great Burgundy wine.
