Admire ancient historical ruins in Athens and travel via Gallipoli to Istanbul to indulge in exotic markets and spices. Encounter the land of Count Dracula in Romania, and discover the scenery that inspired generations of artists in Budapest. Taste delicious strudel and coffee in Vienna, visit cosmopolitan bars in Prague, City of Spires, and enjoy the vibrant night life in Berlin and Amsterdam.
Day 1-8, Athens - Meteora - Kavalla - Gallipoli - Istanbul We begin in Athens, the home of many amazing ancient archaeological sights. Next, we travel to Meteora to visit clifftop monasteries and take in the amazing scenery. We make for Gallipoli and have time to visit the battlefields and ANZAC Cove before arriving in Istanbul, where you can go pawing for bargains at the Grand Bazaar, or visit the Topkapi Palace and fascinating Blue Mosque. Day 9-14, Black Sea Coast - Bucharest - Brasov - Cluj Napoca - Budapest - We spend a night by the Black Sea Coast before arriving in Bucharest with the chance to see the Ceausescus public monuments including the massive House of the People. Next we encounter Dracula territory in Brasov and you can visit Bran Castle. Via the university town of Cluj Napoca we make our way to the romantic and historical cities of Buda and Pest astride the river Danube. Day 15-22, Vienna - Prague - Berlin - Amsterdam - London - Next on our list is Austria's capital, Vienna, where you can visit the Opera House, St Stephens Cathedral or the Schönbrunn Palace. We soak up the culture in Prague with great shopping and brews to taste. In Berlin we take a driving tour and you can learn about the history of this once divided city before we take on Amsterdam with its bicycles, cheese, clogs and unique night life! We finish in the evening of Day 22 in London.
