European one minute, medieval the next: Morocco is a country where diversity thrives. Hours are lost simply wandering the streets, browsing souqs for a bargain and taking in the variety of local sights, tastes and smells that tantalise the senses. Enjoy the major highlights of this ancient land on our magical 8 day adventure.
Day 1-2, Casablanca - Rabat - We begin in faded Casablanca, Morocco's largest city and the setting of the popular 1942 romantic film. Admire the French-influenced architecture, visit the Hassan II Mosque on the edge of the sea, wander by the impressive street stalls and browse the fruit and vegetable markets for a local delicacy. On Day 2 we travel to Morocco's capital, Rabat, where you'll enjoy the captivating sights of the Kasbah des Oudaias, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. Day 3-5, Fez - Meknes - In the morning we make our way to Fez, a medieval city full of life, colour and atmosphere. Famous for its brilliant dye pits and maze-like alleyways, Fez also boasts a huge souq where you'll see generations of workers selling everything from brass to shoes and spices. On Day 5 we travel to Meknes via the famous Roman ruins of Volubilis. Day 6-8, Marrakech - We spend a day travelling over the Atlas Mountains through amazing scenery on our way to Marrakech. You'll gain an authentic insight into the lifestyles of rural Morocco as we pass locals on camels and small oases, all the while taking in amazing colours and settings fantastic for photography. In Marrakech you have the option to visit the famous Ait Benhaddou, one of the most exotic and wellpreserved Kasbahs in the Atlas region.

At other times an alternative trekking itinerary will be used that includes treks in the surrounding valleys. This alternative will not include a summit of Mount Toubkal.

Enjoy a series of moderate treks in Morocco's stunning Atlas Mountains and encounter beautiful scenery, rural farmers and friendly Moroccans going about their daily life in the mountainous surrounds. You will be accompanied by a local guide who will tell you all about the history of the area and the flora and fauna inhabiting the mountains. We also include time in Marrakech to browse the souqs, enjoy local delicacies and marvel at the intriguing snake charmers of Djemma el-Fna.
Day 1, Marrakech - We begin in charming Marrakech, Morocco's `pearl of the south', surrounded by the spectacular peaks of the Atlas Mountains. Explore the maze of bazaars and indulge in a traditional mint tea or thick Moroccan coffee. In the evening you can visit Djemma el-Fna, the city's huge open air square that comes alive with fire-eaters, snake charmers, jugglers and musicians. Day 2-4, Imlil & Day Treks - We have three optional day treks (of which you can do all) from our base in Imlil. The treks take us around the valley area, and venture off the beaten track, with beautiful scenery to appreciate along the way. Accompanied by a knowledgeable mountain guide, who will point out the local fauna and interests of the area, we will see mountain huts, changing landscapes and the wild expanse of the country. Day 5-6, Sidi Camarouche - Toubkal - Today we leave Imlil behind and trek to the beautiful area of Sidi Chamarouche. We will stay overnight at Neltner Refuge where we camp under the stars. The next morning we have an early departure and head to the summit of Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak and one of the highlights of the tour. We then return to our campsite for our last night in the Moroccan wilderness. Day 7-8, Imlil - Marrakech - In the morning we descend back to Imlil and the make our way to Marrakech, where you have one more night to trawl through the markets for souvenirs, and observe snake charmers and voodoo medicine men.
