Warmed by the North African sun, we'll trek to tranquil rural towns in the High Atlas Mountains and take in stunning views of snow-capped mountains with an unforgettable night camping underneath the stars. Discover the many different faces of Morocco ­ a land of desert oases, souqs thick with the scents of incense and spices, and beautiful mosques. Day 1-5, Casablanca - Rabat - Fez - Meknes - We begin in Casablanca, the famous Moroccan port city with French-influenced architecture that gives off a noticeable European feel. Visit the Hassan II Mosque and browse the souqs before we travel to Rabat, Morocco's capital. Medieval Fez is our next stop, and here we have time to admire the vast dye pits and souqs before visiting the Roman ruin site of Volubilis on our way to the imperial city of Meknes. Day 6-8, Marrakech - Spice markets and snake charmers await us in Marrakech. Explore the famous Djemma el-Fna and treat yourself to some of the delicious local cuisine in this crazy night spot. Surrounded by the peaks of the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech has a beautiful backdrop and is one of Morocco's favourite cities. Day 9-13, Imlil - Trekking in the Atlas Mountains - We now spend the next five days trekking in the stunning Atlas Mountains. We have three optional day treks from our base in Imlil. We will walk through beautiful scenery accompanied by a local mountain guide who will tell us about the history of the area. Following on we trek to the beautiful area of Sidi Camarouche and camp under the stars before making our way to the summit of Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak. Day 14-15, Imlil - Marrakech - After our unforgettable mountain trekking we return to Imlil and then head back to Marrakech. Enjoy more time wandering the vibrant streets and shopping at the colourful souqs before our magical adventure concludes. This trek itinerary is only possible in summer months between June and October depending on snow conditions on Mount Toubkal. At other times an alternative trekking itinerary will be used that includes treks in the surrounding valleys. This alternative will not include a summit of Mount Toubkal. Choose your options!
