Enjoy an historic overview of this amazing land and delve into the soul of the Middle East. Day 1-3, Amman - Petra - We begin in Amman, Jordan's modern yet conservative capital city. Visit the amphitheatre and the restored Roman Theatre, or walk up to the citadel and admire the fantastic view of the city and surrounding landscapes. From Amman you can also visit the Dead Sea. Next, we will travel to the mystical, historical city of Petra. The city is made up of stone structures carved into the sheer rock face by the Nabataeans, an ancient Arab civilisation. Day 4-7, Petra - Wadi Rum - Aqaba - Amman - We travel to spectacular Wadi Rum, one of the desert wonders of the world, which has endless layers of golden and red sand enclosed in towering carved rock mountains. We spend a night in a Bedouinstyle camp under a sparkling night sky and you can go on a short camel trek into the desert in Wadi Rum. We then visit Aqaba, the gateway to the Red Sea with bustling markets and medieval archaeological sites. We return to Amman with time for some lastminute bazaar shopping before our tour concludes. Explore the lost city of Petra, encounter the stunning landscape of Wadi Rum, relax on the Red Sea coast and immerse yourself in the chaos and frenzy of Cairo. Day 1-3, Amman - Petra - Amman is the lively capital of Jordan and is built on a series of hills offering wonderful views at every turn. Enjoy the convergence of old and new cultures before we visit ancient Petra. This city was carved into the sheer rock face by the Nabataeans, an Arab civilisation over 2,000 years old. Petra's giant red mountains and mausoleums are truly inspirational. Day 4-5, Petra - Wadi Rum - Aqaba - Our next stop is Wadi Rum, Jordan's magnificent desert landscape, where towering carved rock mountains dominate. We sleep under the stars in a traditional Bedouin-style camp and then you can take a short camel trek into the desert. Following on, we travel to Aqaba. This is a pleasant resort town on the Red Sea coast with medieval archaeological sites and friendly local people to welcome you. Day 6-10, Dahab - St Catherine - Cairo - We take a ferry from the port to Nuweiba and make our way to Dahab, a relaxing beach town famous for its diving and snorkelling. In St Catherine we'll spend the night near the foot of Mt Sinai, and we'll rise early the next morning to ascend the mountain in time for sunrise. Finally, we drive to Cairo, Egypt's chaotic capital, where you can visit the Pyramids and Sphinx, the Khan el Khalili Baazar and the Cairo Tower. Stock up on souvenirs before our adventure ends.
