Grasp the true essence of this amazing country as you explore the vast Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, the ancient Terracotta Warriors, the Muslim Quarter and all of the beautiful villages in between. Day 1-6, Beijing - Xi'an - We begin in exciting Beijing, one of the greatest cities in the world. Here you can visit the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and walk along a section of the 6,000km long Great Wall of China which was constructed to protect Chinese empires from Mongolian barbarians. Our next stop is Xi'an, the home of the famous Terracotta Warriors. These are an army of lifesize clay soldiers and chariots, each detailed with different facial expressions, builds, and weapons. Day 7-11, Nanjing - Suzhou - Hangzhou - Discover Nanjing's fascinating history with a visit to the Sun Yat-Sen Mausoleum. Situated at the foot of the second peak of Mount Zijin (Purple Mountain), it contains the body of revolutionary hero Dr Sun YatSen. We travel to Suzhou to admire its beautiful classical gardens and then we take an overnight boat to the lovely lakeside town of Hangzhou which produces what the Chinese believe is the finest tea in the country. Day 12-14, Shanghai - We arrive in dynamic Shanghai, a lively city boasting many museums and the famous river waterfront (The Bund). Go shopping on Nanjing Road, lose yourself on the metro system, and view the neon lights at dark in central Shanghai or down by the water. Explore modern China and take in a karaoke bar before you go! Choose your options!
