Let us introduce you to one of the most incredible animals in the world, the rare Mountain Gorilla, on an unforgettable journey through East Africa's deep forests and endless plains. Enjoy fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities at Kenya's stunning lakes and national parks, fuel your adrenaline rush with options for white water rafting and bungee jumping in Jinja, and discover a taste of modern Africa in the cosmopolitan capital cities of Nairobi and Kampala.
Day 1-8, Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park - Eldoret - Kampala - Queen Elizabeth II National Park - We begin in Nairobi and take a drive across the Great Rift Valley of Africa, arriving in Lake Nakuru NP, known for the thousands of flamingos that inhabit the lake's edge. Take an optional game drive before we arrive in Kampala, the bustling capital of Uganda. We then spend a day at the famous QE2 NP, known for housing the world's largest concentration of hippos. Day 9-12, Rhuengeri - Our gorilla trek is the highlight of the trip and takes us deep into the Virunga Mountains to spot the rare Mountain Gorilla. Our guides will track their spoor and last movements to find them and we'll have the chance to sit and watch these amazing creatures; a truly unforgettable experience of a lifetime. Day 13-17, Kigali - Lake Bunyoni - Kampala - Jinja - We journey via Rwanda's capital to the shores of Lake Bunyoni where you can explore the natural surrounds by bike or canoe. We retrace our steps back to Kampala and then make our way to Jinja, Uganda's extreme sports hub, where it's time to get into some adrenaline-fuelled optional activities like rafting, quad biking and bungee jumping over the White Nile! Day 18-22, Lake Naivasha - Masaii Mara National Park Nairobi - The beautiful fresh water Lake Naivasha is home to hippos, buffalos and many species of birds. You can also watch a variety of mammals graze around the lake's shores or visit Hell's Gate National Park, which is ideal for hiking, biking and climbing. You have the option to camp overnight in the African bush in the famous Masaii Mara NP before we return to Nairobi for the final day of our adventure.
