Travel on anything that moves for a truly authentic experience! Integrate with the locals and get involved with their culture with stacks of different modes of local transport. Group Sizes: Small & Friendly! The average group size is usually 8-12 people with a maximum of 18. Transport: Public Transport & Private Vehicles We use private vehicles when it is inappropriate to travel on public transport. We travel on a combination of public and private vehicles: trains & sleeper trains, taxis, boats, felucca sailboats, catamaran ferries, minibuses, donkeys and horsedrawn carriages. In the Middle East & North Africa we will use mostly private vehicles and trains. Accommodation: Local hotels, hostels and guesthouses We stay in locally owned and operated simple hotels, hostels and guesthouses, usually with ensuite bathrooms, on a twin or triple share basis. There is some overnight travelling on trains and boats. We keep the accommodation basic so you can mix with the locals as much as possible. The accommodation standards will vary enormously in different destinations but this is all part of the fun!

Food: Choose your own! To see what meals are included please check `the facts' box on the relevant tour page. Most meals are not included and there are many quality restaurants to choose from, allowing you to taste and experience authentic local cuisine which is cheap and delicious! Crew: Tour Leader and Local Representatives A Budget Expeditions tour leader and local representatives for
shorter modules accompany the tour. Local guides are used on selected excursions. Tipping Kitty: Support the Locals Budget Expeditions operates a tipping kitty. At the beginning of the tour approximately US$10 for every two weeks is collected from each person and given to the Tour Leader who changes this into local currency and allocates this to the various service providers encountered in the destination.
