Experience the diversity that characterises South America as we travel across the continent, beginning in the highest capital city in the world, La Paz. Crossing rugged Andean scenery, we make our way through deserts, marshlands, canyons, waterfalls, river caves, wildlife-filled wetlands, beautiful bays and spectacular beaches. There's free camping on the scenic altiplano, options for snorkelling and sailing, and we culminate in the liveliest city in the world, Rio de Janeiro.
Day 1-7, La Paz - Potosí - Uyuni - Our adventure commences in La Paz, the highest capital city in the world. Enjoy folk shows and visit the witches market before travelling south to Potosi to see the famous mines. We then go to the beautiful salt flats at Uyuni; there are great photo opportunities here! Day 8-14, Humahuaca - Salta - San Ignacio Miní - Travelling across northern Argentina, we'll pass by stunning scenery, brilliantly coloured rock formations and colonial cities. San Ignacio is home to the Jesuit Mission ruins near the town of Posadas, (where the film `The Mission' was shot). Day 15-21, Iguazu Falls - Bonito - We explore the famous Iguazu waterfalls; there are 275 in total! In lovely Bonito you can snorkel amongst caves and river systems. Day 22-28, Pantanal - Campo Grande - Parati - Rio de Janeiro - We visit the lush Pantanal wetlands for a nature fix and then have some free camping on the open road. Our journey finishes in one of the liveliest towns in the world, Rio de Janeiro!
