Peru's ancient Inca landscapes, with their fascinating archaeological sites, are juxtaposed with the vibrant capital cities of La Paz and Santiago. We explore Patagonia's sparse, remote terrain before taking in the thundering waterfalls at Iguazu Falls and the unique wildlife at the Pantanal Wetlands. Beautiful beaches are par for the course as well and we finish on one of the world's best, Rio de Janeiro! Day 1-14, Lima - Paracas - Huacachina - Nazca - Puerto Inca - Arequipa - Cuzco - Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu Commencing in Lima, Peru's lively capital, we travel down the coast of Peru taking in deserts, ancient mysteries and colonial towns. We admire stunning Inca ruin sites in Cuzco and the Sacred Valley, and you can choose to hike the Inca Trail or take a day train trip to Machu Picchu. Day 15-28, Cuzco - Sillustani - Puno - La Paz - Sucre - Potosí - Uyuni - We spend one more week in Peru, continuing south to the shores of Lake Titicaca. Arriving in Bolivia, we have time to explore the eclectic Bolivian capital La Paz, colonial Sucre, the old Potosi silver mines and the famous Uyuni salt flats; make sure your camera is charged and ready! Day 29-42, Humahuaca - Salta - Cafayate - Free Camping - Cordoba - Mendoza - Santiago - Entering Argentina, we discover the vast northern landscape and beautiful foothills of the Salta region. Fuel your adrenalin rush with an optional excursion and then enjoy some of the best wine in the world at Cafayate. After some free camping we stop at Cordoba, a lively student town, and then have more time for Argentine wine in Mendoza. Cosmopolitan Santiago is our next stop. Day 43-56, Salto del Laja - Pucon - Bariloche - Perito Moreno - Fitzroy National Park - El Calafate - Torres Del Paine National Park - We arrive in Patagonia, stopping along the way as we venture south, and you have the chance to climb active volcanoes, walk beneath snow-capped peaks, cruise glaciers and trek in stunning national parks. Day 57-70, Torres del Paine - Punta Arenas - Rio Grande Ushuaia - Puerto San Juan - Puerto Madryn - Buenos Aires We make for the most southerly town in the world, Ushuaia, where you can cruise the Beagle Channel and feel like you have touched the edge of the earth. We then continue north up the Atlantic coast before indulging in steak, shopping and tango in Buenos Aires! Day 71-84, Buenos Aires - San Ignacio Mini - Iguazu Falls - Bonito - Pantanal - We travel via the Jesuit ruins site, San Ignacio Mini, to the mighty Iguazu Falls in Brazil, where you can feel the spray of 275 falls at this natural wonder. We stop at Bonito for some snorkelling and then visit the Pantanal Wetlands, where you can wrestle an Anaconda if you're game! Day 85-91, Campo Grande - Parati - Rio de Janeiro - After some free camping in Brazil we hit the coast and have time to try sailing at Parati before our final stop, famous Rio de Janeiro! · Meets Rio Carnival, 4 nights not included in Rio.
