The Zulu Kingdom offers first class hotels, excellent cuisine and the natural splendour of the Drakensberg Mountains. Day 1 To Durban: Fly overnight from London to Durban, via Johannesburg, with British Airways. (N) Day 2 The Drakensberg: Arrive in Durban and collect your hire car. Drive to Cleopatra's Mountain Farmhouse (see page 26) for 2 nights. This is an ideal base for trout fishing, horse riding and hiking. (B, D) Day 3 The Drakensberg: At leisure. (N) Day 4 To The Battlefields*: Drive to Fugitives Drift Lodge (see page 26), which has views over the Anglo-Zulu battlefield. Stay for 2 nights. (B, L, D) Day 5 The Battlefields: Full day tour. (B, L, D) Days 6-8 Phinda: Drive to Phinda Private Game Reserve (see page 26) for a 3 night stay. Activities boutique property in Umhlanga Rocks.
