This tour combines the striking architecture of the Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque in Istanbul with the natural wonders of Pamukkale and the remarkable classical sites of Aphrodisias and Ephesus.

(B, L) Day 7 Kusadasi: Day at leisure or take an optional excursion to the hillside town of Priene and the ancient Ionian ports of the Menderes Valley. (B) Day 8 To London: Late morning transfer to Izmir for a flight to London Heathrow, via Istanbul, with Turkish Airlines. 11 Days / 10 Nights from £1,645 This extension explores the outstanding volcanic landscape that was once at the heart of the Hittite Empire and a Roman Province. Day 8 To Cappadocia: Afternoon flight from Izmir to Kayseri, via Istanbul. Transfer to Anatolian Houses Hotel for 3 nights. (B) Days 9-10 Cappadocia: Days at leisure or optional excursions to the underground cities at Derinkuyu and Kaymakli or the frescoes and rock-hewn churches at Göreme open-air museum. (B) Day 11 To London: Morning transfer to the airport, fly to London Heathrow with Turkish Airlines, via Istanbul. (B)
Day 1 To Istanbul: Fly from London Heathrow to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines and transfer to the Arcadia Hotel for 2 nights. (N) Day 2 Istanbul: Full day tour of Istanbul including Aya Sofia, built as a church by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century, the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace. (B) Day 3 Pergamon: Early morning transfer to the airport for a Turkish Airlines flight to Izmir. Upon arrival transfer to Thermal Princess Hotel for 1 night. Afternoon tour of the historic town of Pergamon, including visits to the Acropolis, the Asclepion and the Red Basilica. (B) Day 4 To Pamukkale: Morning drive to the ruins of Hierapolis and the travertines of precipitated calcium at Pamukkale.
