Today that tradition continues as the Classic Round Voyage visits one of the most unspoilt destinations in the world, travelling through dramatic western fjords between Bergen and Kirkenes, past mountains and glaciers. Ports visited by night on the northbound voyage are seen by day on the southbound journey. the ship enters the land of the Midnight Sun*. (B, L, D) Day 4 To Svolvær: Cross the Arctic Circle as the voyage continues to Bodø. Evening arrival at the Lofoten Islands, and stop off at the capital, Svolvær. (B, L, D) Day 5 At Sea - Tromsø: Arrive at Tromsø, the capital of the Arctic, where the midnight sun is visible from the end of May to the last week in July*. Highlights include the Polar Museum and the Arctic Cathedral. (B, L, D) Day 9 To Svolvær: Visit the Lofoten Islands, and sail through this stunning network of inlets and isles. Subject to local conditions, visit Trollfjord, where the sheer sides of the cliffs seem close enough to touch. (B, L, D) Day 10 Ørnes: Cross the Arctic Circle, passing the peaks of the Seven Sisters mountain range. (B, L, D) Day 11 Trondheim: Early morning arrival in Trondheim. Continue past Hitra Island, making brief stops at Kristiansund and Molde, before the midnight call at Ålesund. (B, L, D) Day 12 To Bergen: Return to Bergen and disembark the ship. Transfer to a centrallylocated hotel for 1 night. (B, L, D) Day 13 To London: Transfer to the airport for a flight to London. (B) Please note that excursions are not included in the basic package. M/S Trollfjord Hurtigruten Hurtigruten's Classic Round Voyage has a fleet of 11 ships that travel along the Norwegian coast, each with a distinct style and character. The newest ships in the fleet include the M/S Midnatsol, M/S Trollfjord and M/S Finnmarken. These ships are an average of 135 metres in length, with capacity for 650 berths plus passengers. Facilities include spacious panoramic lounges from which to watch the outstanding scenery, a restaurant serving Norwegian cuisine, a bar and two Jacuzzis. Standard cabins vary in size, averaging 107 square feet, and feature twin beds, with one bed that can be turned into a sofa, and private bathrooms with a shower. Cabins on the lower decks have a porthole, and those on the higher decks have a picture window. Most suites have a double bed, sitting area, and bathroom with Jacuzzi. Day 1 To Bergen: Fly to Bergen. Board the selected ship for an 11 night cruise. (D) Day 2 Ålesund: Early morning visit to the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund. From mid April to mid September, sail into the Geirangerfjord, where waterfalls, cliffs and mountains are reflected in the still, deep water. (B, L, D) Day 3 Trondheim: Visit the medieval city of Trondheim, once the centre of the Viking Empire. Excursions include the gothic Nidaros Cathedral and Ringve Music Museum. At night, Day 6 To Honningsvåg: After an early call at Hammerfest, arrive in Honningsvåg, the Gateway to the North Cape. (B, L, D) Day 7 To Kirkenes: Reach the end of the northbound voyage at Kirkenes, near the Russian border. (B, L, D) Day 8 To Tromsø: Hammerfest is the world's most northerly town. Stop at Tromsø.
