Cox & Kings Holidays
There are three different types of Cox & Kings holidays: Escorted Groups, Private Journeys and Tailor-Made. Below, we differentiate between the three. Please bear in mind that Private Journeys in some European destinations are significantly more expensive than group travel. Where this is the case, it is stated on the relevant tour page, with Private Journey prices available on a request basis. If you are unsure about which category a particular holiday fits into please refer to the `key features' of the tour just below the title if it states "Escorted Group or Private Journey" then the tour may be taken as either, however, if it simply states "Private Journey" there are no set group departures for this tour. In a few cases an Escorted Group tour may not be exclusive to Cox & Kings' clients and in such cases the term "Non-Exclusive Escorted Group" will be included in the key features. ESCORTED GROUPS All Cox & Kings Escorted Groups benefit from the following features: Tour Manager: Cox & Kings' Tour Managers are carefully selected for their travel experience and organisational abilities. Your Tour Manager will meet your group on arrival in Europe and will escort you throughout your journey (unless otherwise specified). Expert Local Guides: On most tours, in addition to the services of the Tour Manager, Cox & Kings' Comfortable Land Travel: For road journeys, Cox & Kings uses air-conditioned buses of a size appropriate to the size of the group. First Class Accommodation: The standard and style of accommodation varies from place to place and tour to tour, however, Cox & Kings generally uses first class 4 or 5-star hotels, or the best available, on all its tours. Information about all the hotels used in this brochure can be found on our website www.coxandkings.co.uk. Small Group Sizes: To enhance your enjoyment Support on the Ground: On arrival in most European destinations and at each new place on your journey you will be met at the airport, quay or railway station by a Cox & Kings representative. This representative will transfer you to your hotel. You will be given the contact numbers of all the relevant Cox & Kings local representatives, so assistance is only ever a phone call away. Transfers by Car: For almost all road journeys you will have your own car and driver. This allows you to travel in comfort and to stop off along the way if you see something of interest, want to take a Escorted Groups also benefit from the knowledge of local guides who accompany each excursion. In some cases, where appropriate, the Tour Manager will also act as the local guide. Where possible, your entrance fees are included in the holiday price. Airport Representatives: For all group departures from London Heathrow or Gatwick, a Cox & Kings representative is available to assist with check-in and any seat requests that you may have during the main check-in period. Scheduled Flights: Cox & Kings only uses the services of scheduled airlines for international and almost all internal flights. All prices are based on economy class flights, however Cox & Kings offers excellent upgrade rates on international sectors and regional connections if required and details of these are shown on the tour pages. Flight schedules to, from and within Europe mean that some early morning departures or arrivals may be unavoidable. of the tour, we like to keep our groups small and manageable. Therefore, numbers are normally restricted to a maximum of 25 people and a minimum of 10. PRIVATE JOURNEYS Some Escorted Groups may be taken as Private Journeys and some of the tours in this brochure are only available as Private Journeys to check which category a particular tour falls into please see the key features of the tour just below the title. Private Journeys are taken by one or more passengers on the date of their choosing, subject to schedules and availability*. These tours operate exactly as per Escorted Groups except that there is no airport representation in the UK and rather than being accompanied throughout by a Tour Manager travellers are locally escorted in each city/destination.
