Day 7 To Nanjing: Morning visit to Xian city wall and old town. Fly to Nanjing and stay at the Mandarin Garden for 2 nights. (B) Day 8 Nanjing: Full day tour of Nanjing, including a visit to Sun Yetsun's Mausoleum, Xuanwu Lake Park and the Qin Huai Riverside. (B, L) Day 9 To Shanghai: This morning, board a train to Shanghai. Stay in the Central Hotel for 2 nights. This afternoon, visit the Shanghai Museum, Yu Yuan Garden and the Bund. (B) Day 10 Zhu Jia Jiao: Half day tour to the water villages surrounding Shanghai. This is one of the most historic parts of China, where trade has carried on for hundreds of years. Visit Zhu Jia Jiao, a traditional town with a charming collection of narrow lanes, Ming and Qing dynasty houses, gardens, waterways and picturesque stone bridges. Take a boat ride on the ancient canal. (B, L) Day 11 To London: Transfer to the airport for a return flight to London with British Airways. Fly to Xian and stay within the city walls at the Bell Tower Hotel for 2 nights. Evening Tang Dynasty music performance with dinner. (B, D) Day 6 Terracotta Warriors: Full day tour to the Terracotta Warriors and the Shaanxi Museum. (B, L)
Day 1 To Beijing: Overnight flight from London to Beijing with British Airways. (N) Day 2 Beijing: Arrive and transfer to the Novotel Peace Hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is centrally located, close to Tiananmen Square. Afternoon visit to the Imperial Summer Palace. (N) Day 3 Old Beijing: Morning tour to the Forbidden City. After lunch at a local family's residence, take a tour of the hutongs, the narrow winding back streets. Take a boat trip on Shi Cha Hai Lake with traditional music and local snacks. End the afternoon with a drink on the edge of the lake, surrounded by 700 years of Chinese history.
