Extensions Tour + Tibet
18 Days / 16 Nights from £3,835 per person From Chengdu take the direct flight to Lhasa, capital of the mesmerising kingdom of Tibet. Explore the remains of an ancient, yet fragile culture and spectacular mountain scenery. Day 13 To Lhasa: Morning flight to Lhasa and transfer to the Hotel Lhasa for 4 nights. Afternoon at leisure to acclimatise to the high altitude. (B, D) Day 14 Lhasa: Full day tour of Lhasa visiting Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Sera Monastery. (B, L, D) Day 15 Lhasa: Full day tour of Lhasa visiting Potala Palace, Norbulingka and Barkhor Street. (B, L, D) Day 16 Lhasa: Full day tour into the stunning Tibet countryside. Visit the Yangpachen geothermal power plant, Mount Nyainqentanglha and Yangpachen hot springs where there is an opportunity for bathing. (B, L, D) Day 17 To Beijing: Transfer to airport and fly to Beijing. Stay1 night at the Sino Swiss Hotel. (B) Day 18 To London: Fly to London with British Airways. (B) Note: A longer extension to Tibet is also available that includes an overland journey to Shigatse and Gyantse - please ask for more details. Altitude: Tibet is at a high altitude and anyone with a relevant medical condition, or any medical concerns, should obtain clearance from their GP before travelling.
