This private journey combines Angkor with the fascinating Cambodian capital Phnom Penh and finishes with a stay at a luxurious hotel on one of South East Asia's finest beaches, on the peaceful island of Langkawi.
Temple of Angkor Wat
Day 1 To Cambodia: Fly to Phnom Penh, via Malaysia, with Malaysian Airlines. (N) Day 2 Phnom Penh: Arrive and transfer to Raffles Hotel Le Royal for 2 nights. Evening welcome cocktail at the Elephant Bar. (N) Day 3 Phnom Penh: Visit the colourful Royal Palace and its Silver Pagoda, and take a tour of the excellent National Museum, with its collection of Angkor era art. Afternoon visit to the Tuol Sleng Museum of Crime, a reminder of the Khmer Rouge regime. The day ends with a sunset cruise on the Mekong. Dinner at Malis restaurant. Finish with an elephant ride to the summit of Phnom Bakheng Hill to see the sun setting over Angkor Wat. (B) Day 5 Angkor: Full day tour of Angkor Wat and the lesser temples. You will have your own driver and guide, so the itinerary is flexible. Please consult your guide for advice on the best way to avoid the crowds or see the places that interest you the most.
