DISCOVERY TOUR 12 Days / 9 Nights from £2,195 Private Journey · Mount Kinabalu · Turtle Islands · Great Wildlife · Primary Rainforest This active private journey uncovers the very best of Sabah's scenery and wildlife. From the attractive coastal town of Kota Kinabalu, explore reef-fringed tropical islands and Kinabalu National Park, with the option of trekking to the summit of Mount Kinabalu. Stay overnight on the idyllic Turtle Island to observe nesting sea turtles and new hatchlings disappearing into the sea. The wildlife adventures continue with a journey along the legendary Kinabatangan River and into primary rainforest at Danum Valley to explore precious ecosystems with an abundance of rare plant and animal species.
Day 1 To Kota Kinabalu: Fly London to Kota Kinabalu, via Hong Kong, on British Airways. (N) Day 2 Kota Kinabalu: Arrive and stay 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency. (B) Day 3 Kota Kinabalu: Take an excursion by boat to the nearby national marine park to explore the tropical islands, and relax on the beach. (B, L) Day 4 Kinabalu National Park: Visit Poring Hot Springs and Kota Kinabalu National Park, a botanical paradise. (B, L) Day 5 To Turtle Island: Early morning flight and longboat journey to Selingan Island. Overnight in National Park accommodation. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the island's unspoilt beaches. This evening, a park ranger will take you to see turtles laying eggs on the beach, and release hatchlings into the sea. (B, L, D) Day 6 Sepilok: Early morning boat journey to Sandakan. Transfer to Sepilok to see the reserve's orang-utans, which are being re-introduced into the wild. Afternoon boat to Sukau along the Kinabatangan River. Stay 2 nights at the Sukau River Lodge. (B,L,D) Day 7 Sukau: Wildlife excursions in the Kinabatangan River area, a habitat for proboscis monkeys, orangutans, Borneo pigmy elephants and a great variety of birdlife. (B, L, D) Day 8 To Danum Valley: Morning drive through the jungle to Danum Valley, visiting the Gomantong Caves en route. Stay 2 nights at the Borneo

Extension Tour + Trekking Mount Kinabalu
14 Days / 11 Nights from £2,455 Mount Kinabalu is South East Asia's highest mountain at an altitude of 4,095m, and makes a superb three-day excursion from Kota Kinabalu. A good level of fitness is essential for this advanced trek. The summit is at 4,095m so warm clothes are required. Day 4 To Kinabalu National Park: Drive to the park headquarters at Kundasang. Afternoon visit to the Park Centre. Overnight at National Park accommodation. (B, L, D) Day 5 Kinabalu National Park: Transfer to Timpohon Gate at 1,800m for a 4-6 hour trek along picturesque paths with a mountain guide. Overnight in dormitorystyle accommodation at 3,353m. (B, L, D) Day 6 To Kota Kinabalu: Start the ascent at 3 am to reach the summit for sunrise. Return to base for lunch and transfer back to the Hyatt Regency in Kota Kinabalu for one night.
