This summer tour offers the opportunity to discover the highlights of northern India while staying at the luxurious Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. Beginning in Imperial Delhi, the tour takes in the Taj Mahal in Agra, and Shimla, known in British times as the summer capital of India. The tour may be extended to take in the former Rajput capital of Jaipur, the lakeside city of Udaipur or Ranthambore National Park*. Day 1 To Delhi: Fly overnight from London to Delhi with Virgin Atlantic. (N) Day 2 Delhi: Transfer to the Oberoi New Delhi for 2 nights. Afternoon at leisure. (N) Day 3 Delhi: Full day tour of Delhi. (N) Day 4 To Agra: Morning transfer to Agra. Stay 2 nights at the Oberoi Amarvilãs (De Luxe Room). Afternoon tour of Agra Fort. (N) Day 5 Agra: Morning visit to the Taj Mahal. (N) Day 6 To Shimla: Drive to Delhi and board the Himalayan Queen for the overnight train journey to Kalka. (N) Day 7 Shimla: Arrive in Kalka and board the `Toy Train' to Shimla. On arrival, transfer to Oberoi Atlantic. (N) Note: Summer time is typically off-peak for travel in northern India. It can be very hot, and at times wet. However, the facilities at the Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, including discounted spa treatments and some complimentary activities, along with the chance to visit the sights away from the crowds, can make this a most rewarding time to visit. * Please note that Ranthambore National Park is closed from 1 Jun to 31 Oct.
