A HERITAGE TRAIN JOURNEY 11 Days / 9 Nights from £2,645 Non-Exclusive Escorted Tour · 7 Night Train Journey · Rajasthan's Finest Sights · Taj Mahal The Palace on Wheels offers an opportunity to explore northwest India's most spectacular sights in the style of the maharajas and maharanis. Made up of 16 period carriages, the train features lounges, two restaurant carriages and double and twin-bedded cabins with en suite facilities, all furnished in classic Rajput style.
Day 8 Udaipur: Morning drive to Udaipur via the temples at Nagda. Afternoon tour of the City Palace, and return to Chittorgarh to board the train for dinner. (B, L, D) Day 9 Bharatpur & Agra: Early morning visit to Bharatpur, one of the finest bird sanctuaries in the world. Continue to Agra to explore the majestic Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Return to the train for the overnight journey to Delhi. (B, L, D) Day 10 Delhi: Arrive and transfer to the Taj Mahal for an overnight stay. Afternoon tour of Old Delhi. (B) Day 1 To Delhi: Fly from London to Delhi with Virgin Atlantic. (N) Day 2 Delhi: Transfer to the Taj Mahal for 1 night. Afternoon tour of New Delhi. (N) Day 3 Delhi: Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to the station, and board the Palace on Wheels for a 7 night journey. Dinner and evening departure for Jaipur. (B, D) Day 4 Jaipur: Morning visit to the ancient capital of Amber Palace.Afternoon tour of Jaipur. Return to the train for an early evening departure to Jaisalmer. (B, L, D) Day 5 Jaisalmer: Morning tour of Jaisalmer Fort. After lunch aboard the train, visit the Sam sand dunes for a short camel ride and afternoon tea. There will be dinner in Jaisalmer before returning to the train. (B, L, D) Day 6 Jodhpur: Morning arrival in Jodhpur. Visit the Jaswant Thada and the Meherangarh Fort. In the afternoon, there is some time at leisure before returning to the train and departing for Sawai Madhopur. (B, L, D) Day 7 Ranthambore & Chittorgarh: Morning arrival in Sawai Madhopur, and drive to Ranthambore for a morning of wildlife viewing. Late morning departure for the hilltop fortress at Chittorgarh. Return to the train for dinner. (B, L, D)
