In Search of The Tiger DISCOVERY TOUR 13 Days / 10 Nights from £2,445 Private Journey · Taj Mahal · Chambal Safari · Search for Tiger Travelling into the heart of India, this tour designed for nature lovers explores the Chambal River, rich in birdlife, before following the trail of the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger. Travelling by jeep and on elephant back, safaris in the national parks of Kanha and Bandhavgarh with naturalist guides offer an unforgettable opportunity to search for one of the world's most majestic animals in beautiful surroundings. Day 1 To Delhi: Fly from London to Delhi with Jet Airways. (N) Day 2 Delhi: Arrive and transfer to Intercontinental The Grand for 1 night. Optional afternoon tour of Delhi. (N) Day 3 To Jarar: Early morning train to Agra, and visit the Taj Mahal. Drive to the Chambal Safari Lodge at Jarar for 2 nights. (B, D) Day 4 Chambal: Full day wildlife safari, exploring the Chambal River and ravines by boat and camel. Chambal has a huge variety of migratory and resident birds, as well as marsh crocodile and freshwater dolphin. (B, L, D) Day 5 To Bandhavgarh: Morning at leisure. Optional visit to the Bateshwar temples. Afternoon drive to Agra, and take the overnight train to Katni. (B) Day 6 Bandhavgarh: Arrive in Katni, and transfer to Bandhavgarh, famous for its healthy and stable tiger population. Stay for 3 nights at Kings Lodge. (D) Days 7-8 Bandhavgarh: Early morning and late afternoon wildlife viewing. (B, L, D) Day 9 To Kanha: Morning safari. Drive to Kanha. Stay 3 nights at the Royal Tiger Resort. (B, L, D) Days 10-11 Kanha: Considered to be one of India's most outstanding wildlife reserves, Kanha's deciduous forests, savannah grasslands and rolling hills are home to 30 species of mammal. Chambal Safari Lodge: Located 45 minutes from the Chambal River, Chambal Safari Lodge Prices in GBP£'s per person sharing a twin bedded room Single Supp Sole Supp is a small eco-friendly property. Guests are accommodated in small rustic cottages with simple amenities. A naturalist guide is based at the lodge, and is available to lead short walks around the nearby village. Note: Although this tour includes two parks with healthy tiger populations and frequent sightings, there is no guarantee that travellers will see a tiger on this tour. Extensions: Options include Mumbai or a beach stay in Goa. Alternatively, fly to Sri Lanka and take a de luxe mobile safari in Yala National Park in search of the leopard.
