Day 1 To Delhi: Overnight flight from London to Delhi with British Airways. (N) Day 2 Delhi: Arrive and transfer to the The Maidens for 1 night. Afternoon tour of Old Delhi. (N) Day 3 To Haridwar: Early morning train to Haridwar. Afternoon tour of the temples, and witness an evening Aarti ceremony. Stay overnight at Haveli Hari Ganga. (B) Day 4 To Corbett: Drive to Corbett National Park. Stay for 2 nights at Claridges Hideway. (B)
Day 5 Corbett: Corbett National Park has a small tiger population, and is also known for elephant and abundant birdlife. Morning and afternoon wildlife viewing. (B) Day 6 To Nainital: Morning wildlife viewing. Drive to Nainital via Jim Corbett's House at Kaladhungi. Afternoon free for walks around the lake or forest, or visit Snow View. Stay 1 night at the Naini Retreat. (B) Day 7 To Kalmatia Sangam: Morning visit to Sat Tal for a boat ride. Continue to Kalmatia Sangam for a 3-night stay. (B)
Days 8-9 Kalmatia Sangam: Days at leisure to visit local villages, temples and Binsar Sanctuary, and take local walks. (B) Day 10 To Delhi: Early morning drive to Kathgodam and board the train to Delhi. Stay 1 night at The Maidens. (B) Day 11 To London: Fly to London with British Airways. (N) Shakti Village Walk: From Kalmatia Sangam, it is possible to take a 3-day, fully supported trek through the surrounding villages. Walking is at a leisurely pace through pine forests and terraced fields with accommodation in houses in three different villages. Accommodation is simple but clean, and any shortcomings in this regard are more than made up for by the opportunity to experience rural life in this beautiful part of India.
