A Walk in The Himalaya DISCOVERY TOUR 12 Days / 9 Nights from £1,295 Private Journey · 3 Night Guided Trek Through Himalayan Foothills · Lodges with Private Facilities The snow-capped peaks of the Himalaya are among the world's most dramatic natural spectacles. Cox & Kings offers an opportunity to walk through the foothills of the mighty Annapurna range to experience the beauty of the mountains at close quarters. This is a relatively easy-going 4-day / 3-night trek. Day 1 To Kathmandu: Fly overnight from London to Kathmandu, via Bahrain, with Gulf Air. (N) Day 2 Kathmandu: Afternoon arrival. Stay 2 nights at the Soaltee Crowne Plaza. (N) Day 3 Kathmandu: Morning tour of Kathmandu. Afternoon visit to the medieval city of Bhaktapur. (B) Day 4 To Pokhara: Morning flight to Pokhara. Afternoon boat ride on Phewa Lake. Overnight at the Shangri-La Hotel. (B) Day 5 Trek to Birethanti: A 3-hour trek through Chandrakot and the Modi Valley. Lunch and afternoon at leisure in Birethanti. Overnight at the Sanctuary Lodge, with magnificent views of Fishtail Mountain (6,995 metres). (B, L, D) Day 6 Trek to Majgaun: A 3-hour trek to Majgaun Lodge, with views of Annapurna South, Annapurna 1 and Hiunchuli. Afternoon visit to a school and the Mayor's house. Overnight at Gurung Lodge. (B, L, D) Day 7 Trek to Dhampus: A 4-hour trek to Dhampus through forests. Overnight at Basanta Lodge. (B, L, D) Day 8 To Phedi & Pokhara: A 1 /2 hour descent through villages and rice fields. Continue by road to Pokhara via the Tibetan refugee camp and monastery. Afternoon at leisure. Stay 2 nights at the Shangri-La Hotel. (B) Day 9 Pokhara: At leisure. (B) Day 10 To Kathmandu: Morning flight to Kathmandu. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the Soaltee Crowne Plaza. (B) 1 Annapurna range, Himalaya Day 11 To London: Morning at leisure. Overnight flight to London, via Bahrain, with Gulf Air. (B) Day 12 London: Morning arrival. (N) Accommodation: Trekking accommodation is in simple but comfortable Kerr & Downey lodges with private facilities, timed hot water, electricity, continental and local cuisine. On each evening during the trek, complimentary local drinks are served prior to dinner. Equipment: A daypack, duffel bag, walking stick, poncho, down jacket, hat and gloves are available for guest use. Health & Fitness: A reasonable level of fitness is required to undertake this tour. Trekking is at altitudes between 1,000 - 2,500m along small, occasionally steep mountain paths. If you have any medical concerns, you should receive clearance from your doctor prior to travel.
