Day 1 To Colombo: Overnight flight from London to Colombo, via Doha, with Qatar. (N) Day 2 Colombo: Afternoon arrival and transfer to the Cinnamon Grand for 1 night. (D) Day 3 Habarana: Morning drive to Habarana, via the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage. Stay 2 nights at the Cinnamon Lodge. (B, D) Day 4 Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa: Full day tour of the cultural triangle. Morning visit to the rock fortress citadel of Sigiriya. Afternoon tour to the 11th century medieval capital, Polonnaruwa. (B, D) Day 5 To Dambulla & Kandy: Morning visit to the 2,000-year-old rock caves at Dambulla. Continue to the beautiful hill station of Kandy and stay 2 nights at the Mahaweli Reach Hotel. (B, D) Day 6 Kandy: Morning visit to the Temple of the Tooth and the Royal Botanical Gardens. Afternoon at leisure. (B, D) Day 7 To Nuwara Eliya: Early morning drive to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya, stopping en route at a tea plantation. Stay 1 night at the Grand Hotel. (B, D) Day 8 To Colombo: Drive to Colombo via Kitulgala, the location where Oscar winning film `Bridge on the River Kwai' was filmed. Overnight at the Cinnamon Grand.
