Travelling on the upper reaches of the Amazon from Iquitos, the boat explores tributaries that are a habitat for an outstanding array of flora and fauna, including primates, rare birds and dolphins. Enjoy the remarkable experience of being surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of the untouched rainforest.
The Delfin is an excellent new river cruiser with just 7 air-conditioned cabins, furnished in natural woods with luxury private bathrooms. There is a large open deck affording great views, a well stocked bar and a restaurant serving fresh cuisine. The Delfin has an experienced crew and the shared excursions are made in small groups in comfortable motorised skiffs with expert jungle guides. Day 1 To Lima: Fly to Lima, via Amsterdam, with KLM. Transfer to the Melia Lima for 1 night. (N) Day 2 To Iquitos: Morning tour of Lima. Afternoon flight to Iquitos and board the Delfin, for a 7 night cruise. Enjoy an evening tropical drink as the sun sets over the Amazon. (B, D) Day 3 Yanayacu & Yarapa Rivers: Early morning journey up the black waters of the Yanayacu, spotting rare species of bird, monkey and sloth. Afternoon visit to a native village, before watching the sun set to the sound of the jungle chorus. (B, L, D) Day 4 Pacaya - Samiria National Park: Early morning and late evening excursions to explore the largest natural reserve in Peru. Cruise the Maranon and Yarapa Rivers and the Yanayacu Lagoon, looking for macaw, toucan and various monkey species, as well as caiman. (B, L, D) Day 5 Nauta Cano & Marayali Creeks: Further exploration of the largest wetland reserve in the world and the tributaries of the Amazon. Take excursions deep into the rainforest in the early morning and evening after dark, in search of nocturnal wildlife. During the day, relax on board, tasting fresh local food and exotic fruits while surrounded by the sights and sounds of the rainforest. (B, L, D) Day 6 Ucayali River: The meeting of the Maranon and Ucayali rivers forms the mighty Amazon. Travel up the Ucayali, with a walk in the primary rainforest. Learn about the medicinal properties of the Amazonian flora and see the kapok, the largest species of tree in the Amazon basin. (B, L, D)

Day 7 Dorado River: Excursion up the Dorado River where the bird life is abundant, and look for grey and pink Amazon dolphin. Afternoon visit to Carocurahiate Lake to fish for piranha. (B, L, D) Day 8 Puinahua, Sapote & Tapiche Rivers: Full day exploring these small rivers, surrounded by primary rainforest where one can get close to the wildlife. Visit a native village where the only means of transportation is dugout canoe. (B, L, D) Day 9 Tahuyao River & To Lima: Morning jungle walk through exotic flora to arrive at a waterfall in the heart of the jungle, where it is possible to swim. Afternoon arrival at Iquitos and disembark the Delfin. Iquitos city tour. Fly to Lima and stay overnight at the Melia Hotel. (B, L) Day 10 To London: Day at leisure (a day room at the hotel is available). Afternoon departure to London, via Amsterdam, with KLM. (B) Day 11 London: Evening arrival.
