Day 1 To Santa Cruz: Fly to Santa Cruz, via Miami, with British Airways / American Airlines. (N) Day 2 Santa Cruz: Morning arrival. Transfer to Hotel Camino Real for 1 night. Afternoon city tour. (N) Day 3 To Sucre: Morning flight to Sucre. Afternoon at leisure to acclimatise. Stay 3 nights at the colonialstyle Hostal de Su Merced. (B) Day 4 Sucre: Morning tour of Sucre, the legislative capital, with its narrow streets and white-washed colonial architecture. (B) Day 5 Tarabuco: Visit the market at Tarabuco, with its textiles and strolling charango players. (B, L) Day 6 To Potosi: Drive to Potosi, the highest city in the world at nearly 4,100 metres. See the dramatic mines of Cerro Rico, and take in the city's remarkable architectural heritage, founded on the wealth of silver. Overnight at Hotel Cima Argentum. (B) Day 7 To The Salar: Drive across the Altiplano to the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt-lake. Visit the cactus-studded Isla Pescado and stay overnight at the Luna Salada Hotel, built from salt. (B, L, D) 10 hours). Stay 2 nights at Hotel Europa. (B, L, D) Day 8 Southwestern Deserts: Travel across the Salar, visiting Isla Pescado and Colchani. Continue across the Siloli Desert to the Hotel Ojo de Perdiz for 1 night. (B, L, D) Day 9 South Western Deserts: Full day exploring lakes with flamingo, geyser fields and volcanoes. Overnight at the Hotel Girasoles, Uyuni. (B, L, D) Day 10 To La Paz: Drive to La Paz (approximately Day 11 La Paz: Morning visit to Tiwanaku. Return to La Paz to see the Witches' Market and Moon Valley. (B) Day 12 To Lake Titicaca: Visit the Andean Roots Eco-village in Huatajata and take the hydrofoil across Lake Titicaca to the Island of the Moon. Continue to the Island of the Sun for 2 nights at the Posada del Inca, with views of the Cordillera Real. (B, L, D) Day 13 Lake Titicaca: At leisure. (B, L, D) Day 14 To La Paz: Cruise to Copacabana and the Uros Iruitos floating islands. Return to Hotel Europa, La Paz for 1 night. (B, L) Days 15 To London: Overnight flight to London, via Miami, with American Airlines / British Airways. (B) Days 16 To London: Arrive. (N) Discovery Tour: Accommodation in Uyuni and the southwestern deserts is very basic, and some of the travelling distances on this tour are long. Cox & Kings use the best available hotels and jeeps.
