M/V Galapagos Legend Cruise M/V Legend accommodates 110 passengers and 66 crew in style and comfort, with a large deck that is ideal for relaxing and viewing wildlife and scenery. For 2008, Cox & Kings is pleased to offer a specially reserved Junior Suite on Earth Deck, with picture windows. All cabins feature TV, 24-hour room service and other facilities aboard include a dining room, lounge, pool and library. Visits to the islands take place in groups of 15 or less, at a leisurely pace, and there is plenty of time to enjoy snorkelling and to relax on board. Seven night cruises depart on Mondays and Thursdays; four night departures on Thursdays, and three night cruises on Mondays. Day 1: Fly to Quito via Miami with British Airways / American Airlines, or via Houston with Continental. Transfer to the Swissotel for 2 nights. (N) Day 2: Morning tour of Quito and take the cable car up Pichincha Volcano. (B) Day 3: Fly to the Galapagos Islands and board the Legend for a 7 night cruise. Afternoon visit to `Chinese Hat' where sea lions can be seen. (B, L, D) Day 4: Morning visit to Dragon Hill. Afternoon visit to Cormorant Point on Floreana Island, where snorkelling is possible. (B, L, D) Day 5: Visits to Espanola Island, home to bluefooted boobie and albatross, and San Cristobal's interpretation centre. (B, L, D) Day 6: Morning at North Seymour, home to frigate birds, and afternoon at Bartolome Island with great snorkelling near pinnacle rock. (B, L, D) Day 7: Visits to Urbina Bay on Isabela Island, where giant tortoise may be seen. Afternoon visit to Fernandina Island. (B, L, D) Day 8: Visit Santiago, with colonies of fur seal, and the small Rabida Island. (B, L, D) Day 9: Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz, and the highlands to look for giant tortoise. (B, L, D) Day 10: Morning visit to Bachas beach. (N) M/V Galapagos Explorer II Cruise The Explorer II is a first class cruise ship with a capacity for 100 passengers and 150 staff. All cabins are spacious suites complete with sitting area, TV, VCR, and large picture windows (except Magellan Deck). Facilities include a restaurant, piano bar, library, small pool and jacuzzi, and sun lounge It is renowned for its excellent service and naturalist guides. Islands are visited in groups of 15 or less. Seven night cruises depart on Saturdays or Wednesdays; four night departures on Saturdays, and three nights cruises on Wednesdays. Cox & Kings have reserved Classic and Premium suites for regular departures throughout the year.
