This itinerary combines a seven night Galapagos cruise with three nights at the recently opened Plaza Grande Hotel, an exclusive historic residence located in the heart of the World Heritage listed old town of Quito. Spend a few nights in the spectacular Andean highlands, and stay at the Hacienda San Augustin de Callo, built on the site of an Inca Palace, where parts of the Inca construction are still evident.

Day 1 To Quito: Fly from London to Quito, via Miami, with British Airways / American Airlines. On arrival transfer to the Hotel Plaza Grande (Royal Suite) for 2 nights. (N) Day 2 Quito: Half day tour of historic Quito and continue north of the city to the Equator line and monument. Lunch at El Crater Restaurant, perched on the edge of the extinct crater of Pululagua Volcano. (B, L) Day 3 To Galapagos: Fly to the Galapagos Islands and board the luxury Yacht La Pinta for a 7 night cruise. guides. There will be time for snorkelling to search for sea turtles, Galapagos penguin and more, and easy walks in order to view the rare wildlife from close quarters. There is also plenty of time to relax on board, looking out for schools of dolphin and whale. (B, L, D) Day 10 To Quito & San Augustin: Disembark from La Pinta and fly to Quito. Travel south of Quito into the `Avenue of the Volcanoes' with its fertile valleys and Andean scenery. Stay at the historic Hacienda San Augustin de Callo for 2 nights. Over the centuries, this working hacienda has been home to an Inca palace, an Augustinian convent, and the French Geodesic mission to find the Equator in the 1700's. Since the early 20th century, it has been in the family of a former President of Ecuador. (B, D) Day 11 Cotopaxi: Full day exploring the Cotopaxi
National Park and seeing the culture and daily life of the heart of the Ecuadorian Andes. This is an area of sleepy villages, patchwork fields and soaring volcanic peaks. Walk on the slopes of the perfectly conical Cotopaxi Volcano and visit the native pottery village of La Victoria. (B, D) Day 12 To Quito: Drive back to Quito and stay overnight at the Hotel Plaza Grande in a Royal Suite. (B) Day 13 To London: Fly to London, via Miami, with American Airlines / British Airways.
