It is one of the world's greatest destinations for spotting birds and rare wildlife. See great flocks of scarlet and rare hyacinth macaw, toucan, hawk, jacana and jaribu stork. The forest here is sparse, making it much easier to spot wildlife than in the rainforest. There are also several species of monkey, caiman,
capybara, giant anteater and, if extremely fortunate, jaguar may be spotted. Day 15 To Cuiabá: Fly to Cuiabá via Sao Paulo. Transfer to Pousada do Rio Mutum for 3 nights. The Pousada is an eco resort, occupying one of the most beautiful locations in the Pantanal, between the lakes of Sia Mariana and Chacorore. Days 16-17 North Pantanal: Take morning, afternoon and evening group excursions, including boat trips on the Rio Mutum, walks in the jungle and open fields, and nocturnal wildlife spotting.
