In Rio, stay in the landmark Copacabana Palace Hotel and see this dramatic city by helicopter; stay beside the magnificent Iguaçu Falls on the Argentinian border and, in the Amazon rainforest, cruise the river in a luxurious small boat. Day 1 To Rio de Janeiro: Fly to Rio with British Airways. (N) Day 2 Rio: Arrive in Rio and transfer to the Copacabana Palace for 3 nights (superior ocean view room). (N) Day 3 Rio: Full day tour, including Sugar Loaf Mountain, Corcovado Mountain and a helicopter tour to see the city's bays, mountains, forests and landmarks from above. (B, L) Day 4 Rio: At leisure in the opulent surroundings of the Copacabana Palace, or take optional tours. (B) Day 5 To Iguaçu: Fly to Iguaçu. On arrival, take a tour of the Brazilian side of the falls. Transfer to the Sheraton International Hotel, located on the Argentinian side, for 2 nights (falls view room). (B) Day 6 Iguaçu: Morning tour of the Argentinian falls. Afternoon at leisure. (B) Day 7 To Manaus: Fly to Manaus via Sao Paulo. Board the Amazon Premium Clipper for 3 nights*. The boat accommodates 32 passengers in 16 cabins, all with outside window, air-conditioning, private bathroom and low beds. There is a dining room, a large sun deck with whirlpool, and an observation platform offering views of the river and rainforest. (B, L, D) Days 8-9 Amazon Cruise: The Amazon Premium Clipper has a shallow draught, making it possible to visit hidden locations. Excursions are made in groups in motorized canoes with expedition guides, and include caiman spotting, piranha fishing, jungle walks and visits to local villages. (B, L) Day 12 To Porto de Galinhas: Fly to Recife and transfer to Porto de Galinhas, with its magnificent wide beaches that stretch right up along the eastern coast of Brazil. Day 16 To London: Transfer to Recife airport and fly to London via Sao Paulo with British Airways. (B) Day 17 London: Arrive London.
