Continue to the pleasant small city of Cienfuegos, with its distinct French influence. Take a tour of the city and dinner at Cienfuegos Yacht Club. Overnight at La Union Hotel. (B, L, D) Day 7 To Santa Clara & Trinidad: Drive to historic Santa Clara, the site of the last battle in the Cuban Revolution in late 1958. Visit the Che Guevara Museum and Mausoleum, see Revolution Square and take lunch in the city. Continue by road to Trinidad. Stay at the Iberostar, a recently restored colonial building in the heart of the old town, for 3 nights. (B, L, D) Day 8 Trinidad: Morning tour of Trinidad, including the Romantic Museum. Founded in 1514, Trinidad contains beautifully preserved colonial buildings, with hardly a trace of 20th century architecture. (B, L, D) Day 9 Trinidad: Morning tour to the Valley of the Sugar Mills. The ruins of these large plantations, situated in a peaceful valley, are a reminder of colonisation and the slave trade. Afternoon at leisure. (B, L, D) Day 10 To Havana: Drive back to Havana for 1 night at the Parque Central Hotel. (B) Day 11 To London: Afternoon flight to London with Virgin Atlantic. Day 1 To Cuba: Fly to Havana with Virgin Atlantic. On arrival, drive out to the Pinar del Rio province in western Cuba. With its tobacco plantations and lush rounded limestone hills, this is a great place to unwind and get into the rhythm of Cuba. Stay at La Moka in the Las Terrazas Biosphere Reserve for 2 nights. (N) Day 2 Vinales: Full day tour to Vinales, visiting a tobacco plantation and travelling through beautiful valley and farmlands, untouched by the modern world. Return to La Moka via the mountain retreat of Soroa. (B, L) Day 3 To Havana: Drive to the capital and stay at the Parque Central for 3 nights. Afternoon walking tour of old Havana. Evening performance by the Buena Vista Social Club, with dinner at the Hotel Nacional. (B, D) Day 4 Havana: Morning visit to a rum factory and panoramic tour of Havana, including the Museum of the Revolution and Christopher Columbus Cemetery. Take lunch at the historic Bodeguita del Medio, one of Hemmingway's old haunts. Afternoon at leisure, perhaps to relax by the rooftop pool with its views over the Havana skyline. Dinner at La Floridita, home of the daiquiri. (B, L, D) Day 5 Havana: Morning visit to the Hemmingway Museum, afternoon visit to Camera Obscura and the Bellas Artes Museum.
