Métro: Marcadet Poissonniers Situated about 10 minutes' walk from the Sacré-Coeur and the Place du Tertre, the Amarys Simart has 47 modestly-sized yet comfortably furnished rooms, all with phone, satellite TV and small shower room. A continental breakfast is served and tea & coffee are available for guests in the reception area. The hotel has no lift, but staff are happy to help customers with their luggage. We would suggest the Simart as particularly suitable for people looking for budget accommodation. Official rating 1 star.

NORD EST **
Métro: Gare du Nord A small and pleasant hotel situated close to Gare du Nord. The Opéra is within walking distance and the hotel is also well-located for shopping expeditions to boulevard Haussmann. 30 bedrooms offer satellite TV, phone and private shower or bathroom. Unusually for a small hotel there are a number of bedrooms which can accommodate 3 or 4 adults. A tourist class hotel, the Nord Est provides comfortable accommodation. Official rating 2 star.

Métro: Porte de Clignancourt This hotel is situated 15 minutes' walk away from the SacréCoeur and the many cafés and restaurants of charming Place du Tertre in Montmartre. It is only five stops by Métro from Gare du Nord. All 49 rooms are equipped with private bathroom (shower only) with hairdryer, tea & coffee tray, phone and satellite TV. In the summer, breakfast is served outside on the patio. A good value and friendly hotel. Official rating 2 star.

ALADIN **
Métro: Les Gobelins Located on the Left Bank, this family-run hotel is approximately 10 minutes' walk from the Botanical Gardens and the markets, bars and restaurants of the Marche Mouffetard. Each of the 29 rooms have phone, TV, hairdryer and bathroom (shower only). Room safes are available at an extra charge. There is a small ground floor breakfast room. As well as providing a superb base from which to explore Paris, the Aladin is great value for money and provides an excellent choice for a budget break. Official rating 2 star.

Métro: Chãteau d'Eau Situated in the colourful 10th arrondissement, close to the Gare de l'Est and the Gare du Nord, this recently renovated hotel is very well-located especially for those arriving by Eurostar. It has 41 rooms each with shower/bathroom, TV, phone, hairdryer and safe deposit box. Other features include a lounge/bar area, breakfast room and lift (not to top floor). Triple, Quad and 5-bedded rooms available. Highly Recommended. Official rating 2 star.

LIBERTEL GARE DU NORD SUEDE **
Métro: Gare du Nord This modern hotel is situated just a few minutes' walk to the Gare du Nord, ideal for customers arriving on the Eurostar service and very near the Marché Saint Quentin, a great place to find typical French foods (closed Monday). The 50 well furnished bedrooms each feature a phone, TV, hairdryer and a private bathroom with a bath or shower. The lobby has unique paintings, vending machines, internet access and a verandah with small courtyard. The Gare du Nord Suède is always a very popular choice. Official rating 2 star.
