FRANCE Nice The capital of the sophisticated Côte D'Azure, this beautiful city offers so much more than a beach. Nice is a superb short break choice. HIGHLIGHTS Promenade des Anglais stroll along this palm treelined avenue. Old Town overlooked by Le Chateau Hill and its surrounding park, the winding streets are great to explore. EATING & DRINKING Provincial dishes tend to be made up of a blend of garlic, tomatoes, olive oil, onions and wild herbs. Cosmopolitan and varied, some of the local specialities include courgette flower fritters, socca' pancakes stuffed with savouries, pan-bagnet (stuffed vegetables), salad niçoise, pissaladiere' onion pie and ratatouille. SHOPPING Nice is the shopping hub of the Riviera. For local produce spend a morning in the Old Town's Cours Saleya Market.
