Leaders in Leadership
When CycleActive started 11 years ago there were no ofcial leadership awards for mountain bikers. People buying holidays had to rely on their own judgement to decide if the trip would be run well, or not. But things have changed. Through the governing bodies of cycle sport, British Cycling and Scottish Cycling, the Scottish Mountain Bike Leader Award scheme was established in order to accredit leaders and show the public who they can trust to guide them safely, to coach them properly and to handle problems as they arise. At CycleActive we train all of our UK guides to the highest level of SMBLA accreditation, then give additional training on mechanics, group leadership and individual country skills depending on where they will guide. We now have a dedicated team of leaders, operating at the highest levels of professionalism and client care. Many of them are high level Tutors for the SMBLA and are helping to shape the way leaders are trained right across Britain. For more information on our team please see their CVs on our website.
