Leaving Newcastle early evening and arriving in Amsterdam next morning, you will have the rest of that day and up until late afternoon on the day of your departure to see the sights. It has all the advantages of a big city: art, entertainment, international restaurants, excellent public transport but is relatively small, quiet and largely, thanks to its canals, has little road traffic, except bicycles!
