Our city cruise breaks to the European Capital of Culture 2008, Stavanger, sail from Newcastle overnight on the delightful m.s. QUEEN OF SCANDINAVIA. Stavanger is almost 900 years old and is the capital of South Western Norway. Small town charm combined with a cosmopolitan atmosphere rivals all of Norways main cities. The varied landscape from beautiful sandy beaches in neighbouring Sola to the deep fjords and mountainous areas to the east make Stavanger a fascinating destination for a short break. Our 3 night break also includes 1 night in a 3 star hotel, allowing ample time to explore the city and surrounding attractions such as the famous Pulpit Rock. For those with more time, we would like to recommend the option to extend your stay further, so rather than 1 nights hotel stay, why not enjoy 4 or 5 nights (depending on our sailing schedule). You could enjoy some of the great excursions available, such as Lysefjord, offering the chance to see the famous suspended boulder and enjoy some spectacular views. Prices per person are based upon 2 people travelling in an inside 2-berth en suite cabin and include overnight return sea crossings. Hotel accommodation as selected based in a twin bedded en suite room on a bed and breakfast basis. Return transfers are only included for the hotels not in walking distance. Prices shown including a hotel stay are based on the Thon Hotel Maritim. For all other hotels supplements may apply. Upgrade supplement is based upon the 4 star Victoria Hotel.
