Our name is taken from the eighteenth and nineteenth century dragomen. These local guides acted as companions to travellers over the centuries. Dragomen organised transportation, accommodation and liaised with local tribes people. This way, travellers and explorers could gain knowledge and access to lost historical and archaeological sites: far flung, long forgotten civilisations and ancient empires. Without dragomen guides, who knows where Dr Livingstone might have ended up!
