Our passing encounters with local cyclists may leave us with some of our strongest memories. Vietnam is a beautiful country, with a long coastline of broad, sandy beaches, shimmering paddy fields and mountains cloaked in forests. Our route takes us from the vibrant streets of Saigon northwards to the more conservative capital Hanoi. Out of the saddle we have time to relax in lively Nha Trang, enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and great shopping of Hoi An and cruise around the incredible seascape of limestone towers in Halong Bay. ITINERARY Day 1 Depart London. 2 Arrive Saigon. 3 A mix of driving and cycling to the Cu Chi tunnels. 4 Drive towards the coast and cycle to Mui Ne. 5 Cycle to Dalat in the Central Highlands. 6 Cycle through Bidoup N.P. to the beach resort of Nha Trang. 7 Cruise around islands with seafood lunch and snorkelling. 8 Cycle to beautiful Dai Lanh Beach; coastal ride to Quy Nhon. 9 Transfer to Quang Ngai; cycle to My Lai; transfer to Hoi An. 16 DAYS 10 Sightseeing in Hoi An; free afternoon. 11 Ride over the spectacular Hai Van Pass to China Beach; cycle and drive on to Hue. 12 Explore Hue and surroundings by bike and dragon boat; sleeper train to Hanoi. 13 Arrive Hanoi; sightseeing including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and One Pillar Pagoda. 14 To Halong Bay; cruise and swim amongst spectacular limestone formations; return to Hanoi. 15 Free morning; depart afternoon. 16 Arrive London.
