J U LY - S E P T E M B E R Namibia (pages 103-105) This cool, dry season provides the perfect climate to explore the incredible desert scenery, coastal wilderness and National Parks. Peru (pages 173-179) The dry season is a wonderful time to explore the myriad of sites on offer; Machu Picchu, Titicaca, the Amazon and much, much more. China (pages 118-121) Low humidity and rainfall makes early autumn one of the best times to discover China's monuments, temples and cities. Spitzbergen (pages 24 & 192) 24-hour daylight provides wildlife viewing opportunities, including polar bear and Arctic foxes, in the Arctic Circle at Spitzbergen. Costa Rica (pages 165-167) We can see toucans all year round but this is the best time to see turtles come ashore to nest on the volcanic beaches of Tortuguero.
