Gentle walks through classic Tuscany to experience beautiful San Gimignano, Siena and Italy's famous Chianti wine Thanks to its fine Renaissance cities, beautiful rolling countryside and outstanding Chianti wine, there is no better place to start than classic Tuscany. The landscape of southern Tuscany fulfils all expectations, with medieval hilltop villages and cypress-lined avenues snaking through vineyards. We spend the week in a wonderful family-run Tuscan farmhouse, which has provided outstanding country hospitality for over 20 years. Only a short distance from the well-preserved hill-top town of San Gimignano, Voltrona continues to produce its own wine, which we taste over the week along with the traditional Chianti, famed for its basket bottle and wonderfully rich flavour. There is also plenty of time to wander amid the seductive countryside, and see the famous landmarks of Siena. sanctuary of Etruscan, Roman and Medieval architecture; optional wine tasting. 8 Transfer to Pisa; fly to London. Learn to cook a full Italian meal with local chefs whilst enjoying the classic Tuscan countryside Italy is renowned for offering the richest and most varied food throughout the world, and this is the perfect opportunity to try recreating some of their classic dishes. The ideal location to learn some cooking skills has to be beautiful Tuscany, where rolling hills and pretty medieval villages dot a wonderful green landscape full of vineyards. Our base for the week is Villa Fabbroni, near the historic village of San Polo in Chianti, a renovated castle dating back to Roman times, which has been visited by many important guests, including King Vittorio Emmanuele II. Cooking lessons are spread across the week, leaving plenty of time to relax and visit famous landmarks of Siena and Florence, only a short distance from Villa Fabbroni. to visit exciting Florence (only 30 minutes away), the local farm for some more wine tasting or simply relax by the pool (all optional). 7 Morning visit wine museum in Greve in Chianti; afternoon is spent preparing the famous tiramisu to accompany our evening meal. 8 Transfer to Pisa; fly to London. Itinerary: Day 1 Fly to Pisa; transfer to our base near San Gimignano. 2 Circular walk through farmland to picturesque San Gimignano to explore Palazzo Comunale and Torre Grossa. 3 Drive to Monteriggioni and walk onto medieval Colle di Val d'Elsa; an eclectic blend of ancient noble houses. 4 Gentle walk through pleasant countryside to old Castelvecchio castle; visit local winery to see how wine process has changed over the years. 5 Visit Siena and famous Campo, Museo Civico and Pinacoteca Nazionale. 6 Free day to visit Florence, relax by the pool or taste more Chianti (all optional) 7 Visit Volterra,
