Pyrenees Winter Walk & Snowshoe
This is where our snowshoeing programme was born. Over twelve years ago we started to entice our summer walkers back to enjoy this area's stunning winter scenery on snowshoes. The valleys and ridges around the French spa town of Luchon are perfect for winter exploration, and our series of tried and tested daywalks take in the best views of the area as we climb to a ridge or small peak each day. Even with limited snow conditions when snowshoes are not necessary, we will still be able to explore and experience spectacular winter walking. Our base is La Feniere, a cosy mountain lodge, ten minutes drive from Luchon, with superb views of the highest peaks in the area. Trip Details

Excellent mountain walking from the traditional village of Bocognano Part of France but distinctly different, influenced by Italy but not Italian, the Corsicans have a language, culture, cuisine and way of life all of their own. This holiday is based in Bocognano (650m), a village in the midst of magnificent scenery. It is served by the delightful mountain railway which connects Ajaccio with Corte and provides us with easy access to a good range of walking routes from the Mediterranean to the central highlands. The mountains rise from the western coast of pink granite to an impressive range of peaks running down the spine of the island. The distance from the highest peak to the sandy beaches is less than 40km; a compact area providing superb mountain walks through forests, valleys and traditional villages. Trip Details
Trip Code & Grade: TEB Duration: 8 days from London - normally Sun to Sun. Land only 8 days - start Bocognano day 1, end Bocognano day 8. Itinerary: Day 1 Fly to Ajaccio; transfer by road to Bocognano. 2/4 Three guided daywalks, exploring the beautiful scenery around Bocognano. 5 Free day for an optional trip by train to Ajaccio and its beaches; the charming university town of Corte; or perhaps the historic coastal town of Bastia. 6/7 Two more guided day walks. 8 To Ajaccio; fly to London. Profile: travel by private minibus. Five daywalks with snowshoes. No previous snowshoeing experience necessary, but good fitness required. Group: min. 2, max. 10, plus leader. Min. age 16.
