his is a genuine wilderness safari through some of the best areas of Southern Africa. The combination of National Parks and Game Reserves teeming with wildlife and the diversity of the landscape, make this a truly intoxicating destination. Gliding through the waterways of the Okavango Delta by mokoro is the ideal way to absorb the peace and tranquility of this unique habitat while meeting the local Bayei Tribe. Moremi and Chobe contain large numbers of game, including elephant, leopard, lion and even the elusive wild dog. It is Africa at its most untamed and with a visit to Victoria Falls, this trip will live long in the memory.

Flights via Johannesburg with Nationwide Airlines. Accommodation 12 nights full service camping (camp beds provided). Swimming 7 nights with pool. Transport 4WD vehicle. Group min 6, max 12, plus leader and camp assistant. Food all meals included except dinners in Maun and Livingstone. Reality Check minimal time difference; some malarial areas visited and a few long drives; 5 nights wild camping, which adds to the overall bush experience. Min. Age 6 years.
The Itinerary
Day 1 Depart London. 2 Arrive
Livingstone; relax by river lodge swimming pool or visit Victoria Falls. 3 To Nata; visit famous bird sanctuary. Afternoon walk; watch sunset over this surreal landscape. 4 To Maun via Makgadikgadi Salt Pan; afternoon at leisure or relax by pool. 5 Mokoro ride through channels of Okavango Delta; late afternoon game walk with local Bayei Tribe. 6 Morning game walk; mokoro ride and 4WD back to Maun. 7 To Moremi Game Reserve; afternoon game drive. 8 Game drives with good chance of seeing some of the best wildlife in Africa. 9 Visit Bushman village; to Savuti, known for its numerous predators and large elephant herds. 10 Full day of game driving in Savuti. 11 To Chobe for sunset cruise. 12 To Livingstone. 13 Free day for optional activities around Victoria Falls, such as rafting or an elephant back safari. 14 Depart Livingstone. 15 Arrive London.

Instead of emptying into the sea or a lake, the Okavango River finishes on the sands of the Kalahari Desert. The resultant Okavango Delta was once part of Lake Makgadikgadi, which dried up 10,000 years ago and is the largest inland delta in the world.
